Help me celebrate my birthday
Today is my birthday and I had a lovely day, most of which was spent doing demonstration weaving. As I promised yesterday, today I am going to write out all of the different offerings I have here. You could give me a lovely birthday gift either by taking advantage of one of these offerings or by sharing them. Children and family offerings are listed first followed by adult offerings.
I'll start with the two which desperately need one or two more participants so I have enough to run the class. The first is the most dire and could really use another sign up immediately.
Sheep and Fiber classes
These are two 1.5 hour classes. Participants get to interact with the sheep, then learn about processing raw fiber, different types of sheep's wool, and have a chance to spin on a suspended spindle. All fiber is provided. Ages 8 to adult. Cost: $60/student plus the cost of a suspended spindle if you don't already have one. I'm willing to order at cost. I have a class scheduled for Thursday, June 11 and 18 from 1:00 to 2:30, but it needs one more student to run.
Horse classes
These are five, one hour classes where we cover safety, parts of the horse, leading, tack, equine sports, breeds and colors, and grooming while interacting with the horses as much as possible. These are unmounted classes; there is no riding. Ages 6 and up. Cost is $150/five sessions. I have classes scheduled for June 26, July 3, 10, 22, and 31 from 10:30 to 11:30. There is room for four more students. I also have a Saturday class scheduled for June 14, 21, July 5, 22, and 26 from 10:30 to 11:30. This class still needs two students to run.
Parent-Tot classes
These are three, one hour classes for children ages 3-5 with a parent. We learn about horses and interact with the ponies in an age appropriate manner. These are ground based classes and involve no riding. Cost is $90/child and I need two students to run a class.
Pony Phonics
This program employs a host of games and activities to support reading skills all while interacting with ponies. Being in nature, interacting with animals, using whole body games and activities all help the reading process in an environment totally different from a traditional classroom. $60/session.
Equine Assisted Learning - Mitigating Sibling Rivalry
This program consists of six, one hour sessions that a parent and children participate in together. We work on self-awareness, emotional literacy, self-regulation, and conflict management and interacting with horses is a part of every session. These are unmounted and involve no riding or previous horse experience. Cost is $360/family and can be paid session by session.
Equine Assisted Learning - Developing Self-Regulation Skills
This program consists of six, one-hour sessions that a parent and child participate in together. We focus on different self-regulation skills while working with horses. Horses are excellent at providing non-judgemental feedback to aid in learning regulation. Cost is $360/family and can be paid session by session.
Parent Coaching
I have over ten years of parent coaching experience and have developed wide range of tools for parents struggling with their children. Every child... and every parent... does the best with what they have, but sometimes having someone to come alongside you to reframe a situation can be helpful. I have coached remotely and in person. If you are local, working with the horses in addition to coaching can be transformative. Cost is $60/hour.
Equine Assisted Learning
This is for adults who are looking to develop self-awareness, are feeling stuck, or at a transition point and need a new perspective. This is unmounted work and requires no horse experience. Though I can facilitate single sessions, it is generally a three session progression. If a client has a particular area or challenging they want to explore, sessions can be modified to accommodate those needs. Cost is $60/hour.
Adult short retreats
These are three hour sessions for three or more participants. They can focus either on sheep and fiber or guided journaling combined with equine assisted learning. These are perfect for a group of friends to share some time in nature together and learn a new skill or have a new experience. If you are coming from farther away, the three hour time block makes the drive worthwhile. I provide coffee and tea. Minimum of three participants needed. Cost is $60/participant.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and perhaps signing up for something yourself.
Here's a completely unrelated picture that K. took of one of the hens, just because I like it.
