Monday bullets?

Let's pretend it's Friday, okay? Then we can have two Fridays this week which seems lovely.
  • The last five family members got their first Covid vaccine a few days ago. They will be fully vaccinated by the middle of July. I feel as though this is going to be a huge weight off my shoulders.
  • That said, I'm not looking forward to R. getting her second shot. Having a sore arm was triggering enough, I have no idea what to expect from the second one. As a side note, we are becoming more and more aware that illness and pain are two or R.'s biggest triggers and when we can expect some challenging behavior. At least we have something to work with and can begin the process of helping her to understand what is actually going on with her body.
  • I am still sore from my fall last week. Some chairs are just more uncomfortable to sit in than others, and I really can't sit still for too long or I regret it. I'm pretty sure I had a mild concussion, too. On that front I'm feeling much, much better. I did get a new riding helmet, and for the price it should protect my head from just about anything that tries to knock it about... falls , anvils, grand pianos. Yes, it was that expensive.
  • Aster still gets excited when the car pulls in, hopefully looking for TM to come up the walk.
  • TM is surviving basic. I'm not sure he's enjoying it, but does anyone enjoy basic? I sent him a care package of things he requested today.
  • I'm not quite sure how it can be July at the end of the week. July is when I need to start planning classes for our co-op. Then July is followed by August when I need to do our homeschool schedule. I really wish there could be a "planning season" somewhere in between summer and autumn so that we could just relax and enjoy summer, but still be ready when school rolls around.
  • The goose is still sitting on the eggs. Now we're thinking that we should sneak in some chicken eggs, because the chicken numbers have gotten a bit low. Then we wondered what would happen if the goose was trying to raise chicks...
  • So I did kind of a big thing this past week. I am now the owner of my own business. Bittersweet Farm is now Bittersweet Farm LLC, and will be what I do all my equine-related activities under... horse classes, riding lessons, equine facilitated learning. There are still several things I need to do, such as opening a bank account (will happen this week) and getting an official website and email address. (MC is going to help me with that since it's what he does professionally. Isn't it nice to have talented sons-in-law?) When it's all ready to go, I'll be sure to give all of you the link.
  • The big horses and the pony are all getting along much, much better. It seems Java and Vienna are now good friends and Emmy doesn't chase Vienna away every time she gets to close. Life in the barn is much calmer.
  • And finally, how about a funny picture of Java?

I think she looks like Ralphie from a Christmas Story when he is wearing the bunny costume. Java is not quite as amused as rips off her new fly mask at every opportunity. I wish she'd leave it on, though, because the bugs really do bother her eyes and ears.
