Doing nothing

I'm very much enjoying our week off of school. I'm not so sure the children are. I have been asked more than once what we will be doing tomorrow (or this morning or this afternoon). There have been a lot of children at loose ends. I haven't been doing too much of anything myself, and this is exactly what I've been enjoying. Sometimes we get so caught up in the productive, finish the to-do list mode, that we forget to just take a break now and then. I'm finding that I just need to rest, either just sitting doing nothing or some hand work that I enjoy, but that's about it. I might have thrown in a load of laundry, but even that hasn't taken much time.

R. has had a good few days and I think I just need to recover. For someone who really likes to have a list of things accomplished at the end of the day I'm remarkably okay with all of this. Resting just feels good... like I can start breathing again.

The children in the background have managed to entertain themselves, so don't worry about them. There has been much reading or listening to books, building with blocks, playing with the kitten, watching documentaries, and some lolling about. I think there were even a few naps that happened. Today there was a long (very long) Horseopoly game which was played by TM, G., L., Y. and K. No one is suffering even if I don't have an answer to the, "What are we going to do?" question.

So here's your reminding that it's okay to rest. Rest and breath and not worry about getting things done. I think after doing this it makes everyone more eager to learn new things and be productive. My only goal for this week is to finish reading Frankenstein, which is my current fiction read at the moment.
