Meal planning - Sept. 15 - 21, 2020

We had our first real day of school today. It went far better than some have gone, though having to think about math and grammar can be a shock to some people. Happily, some of those people had a therapy kitten to help.

Two and half hours to do handwriting, science, math, grammar, history, and for me to work individually with H. and R. Not bad.

It was also grocery store day, among other things, which means a new menu.

Tuesday, Sept. 15

Vegetarian lentil soup
We were supposed to have this on Sunday, but we came home with food from the wedding, so had some of that instead. This got pushed to this week.
French bread
     Store bought

Wednesday, Sept. 16

Ham
I had one more ham in the freezer, but there will be another side of pork arriving in the next month, so I needed to make room.
Cheesy potatoes
     Also leftover from the wedding
Sauteed zucchini
Because every plate should have something green

Thursday, Sept. 17

Goat cheese and sun-dried tomato pasta
I have goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes in the freezer
Salad
Garlic bread

Friday, Sept. 18

Quick bean soup
This is a recipe from my mother. It has vegetables, white beans, and smoked sausage. It really is quick and easy.
Biscuits
     From scratch

Saturday, Sept. 19

Calzone
I have bread dough and mozzarella in the freezer, which makes this particularly easy.
Salad

Sunday, Sept. 20

Green chicken curry
A family stand-by, plus green beans were $0.99/pound
Jasmine rice
Dumplings
Every so often Aldi has dumplings for sale. I bought all six bags.

Monday, Sept. 21

3-bean sloppy joes
This is a new recipe that sounds good and is made in the crock-pot.
Potato chips
Because some times you just have to be the fun mom
