Well, it's been a week. That's about all you can say about it.

  • Dealing with psychiatrist's offices may just make me crazy. I have to fill out an online form and email it back to the office before we can even begin to discuss dates. I was having this conversation with the office while pulled over to the side of the road, desperately trying to catch up on my lost two days. I say that I'll get it done, but don't expect the forms today. The receptionist then tells me that as soon as possible is best, but I can do it whenever I wish, to which I sort of snapped back, "No, I cannot do it whenever I wish, as I have to work my children's schedules and current level of functioning." And I'm pretty sure that I am not the only parent calling to try to make an appointment with a pediatric psychiatrist who has no 'whenever I wish' in my schedule.
  • R. has still not settled from her stay in the hospital. She is all over the board in terms of behavior and functioning, but unlike the post-ictal psychosis, this I'm afraid is all about trauma. And there is no medicine in the world that will help that to heal faster.
  • Our church has what they call 'connection dinners' once a year, where members of the church meet in one another's homes to share dinner together, the purpose being to meet other people from church who you do not know. We have hosted because most people find it difficult to have eleven people descend on them for dinner, but tonight we got to go to someone else's house. It was lovely, and we had a great time.
  • School this morning should be filed under the 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' category. I found some free worksheets for counting and then graphing Halloween candy. We did tallying, fractions, bar graphs, and circle graphs. It seemed like a good idea since sorting candy is all anyone was really interested in doing.
  • I am not ready for cold and snowy weather. Actually, I'm not sure I'm ever really ready for cold and snowy weather, but certainly not before November.
  • We turn the clocks back this weekend. I didn't grow up with daylight savings because Arizona doesn't participate. I still don't get it.
Oh my goodness, I am so tired. It appears I have nothing else to say at the moment, so good night, all.
