3 million

The blog hit a rather large milestone yesterday in that according to the analytics it hit three million page views. That's a lot of views. I've been wondering recently if the blog had run its course, but that probably says more about the weird transition phase I'm currently in than anything else. I don't have young children anymore. Heck, we're coming pretty darn close to only having adult children now. Technically we're still homeschoolers, but the learning has shifted to the community college. We're definitely not empty nesters since there's still eight people living in the house. Not unlike most of my life, I don't easily fit into typical categories. Maybe that's the direction I start to aim my writing?

In the meantime, once again thank you to my faithful readers. It's so nice to have you along for the ride. Because having an audience means I can share exciting content such as the fact I'm writing this post from the laundry room where I'm babysitting the washing machine. J. has it working thanks (hooray!!) to overnighting the broken part so we're putting it through a cycle. But it's still pulled out and the drainage pipe isn't actually attached to the sink so someone needs to stand here to be sure water doesn't spray everywhere. Because that doesn't sound like how I want to spend my evening.

Having a reading audience also means I can continue to share my seemingly endless photos of jars sitting on the counter.

Today's tally was six pints of choke berry jelly and seven pints of pickle relish. Plus, they all sealed! (For those of you who were also having difficulty with jars sealing, I wasn't tightening them quite enough before they went in the canner. Just tightening them a bit more has made all the difference.) Today's canning bonanza was brought on by more car stress. With messages talking about transmissions, a word which never sounds good. Plus we have four days coming up where multiple people have multiple places they need to be and we can't do it with one working vehicle. I'm taking more deep breaths because I'm out of canning lids and so can't cope that way.

The washer should finish it's cycle soon which means we'll need to put it back into its spot and then moderate the free for all of many people wanting to wash their clothes. Don't be jealous, not everyone gets to lead such a glamorous life.
