Weekly update - January 13, 2023
I'm not sure how much I'm going to have this week, so we'll see.
- We did our first full week back at school. All things considered, it didn't go too badly. We are beginning to catch up from having missed the entire month of December.
- I haven't started back to school with R. yet. I figure she needs a month to recover as much as anyone. She is happy to sit and play with her favorite toys. My bar is so low at the moment that I'm happy with that as well. After we both have recovered a bitore, I'll start to add in more purposeful activities for her.
- Bristol seems to be doing well. Her leg when I change her bandage still looks fairly horrific, but she is using that legs. I think that's about as good as we can hope for at the moment.
- After her twenty (!) days of antibiotics are done, I'm going to have to really wash my barn coat. Maybe twice... or three times. After just a couple of days the arms are covered with antibiotics that have come back out of her mouth. It's a messy business. I wish she would just eat them.
- Did mention that the vet thought my leg wrapping was very well done? Even if I did, I'll share that tidbit again because I'm kind of proud of it.
- The hoar frost earlier this week was beautiful, but it's very difficult to get a good picture of it. I tried anyway.
- R. is definitely improving, but we are still up.with her once or twice a night. The difference is we can settle her and get her back to sleep. I won't miss this when it ends.
- K. and Y. are teaching H. how to play Minecraft. It is very sweet to over hear.
- D. goes back to school on Sunday. We'll miss him. B. is driving him back, which is fantastic because D. needs to bring his cello with him. It's hard to take a cello on the bus.
- The boxes of Christmas decorations are still in the living room. Putting them away will be one of tomorrow's jobs.
- I have space for a couple more parent coaching clients if anyone knows of someone who could use a sympathetic ear and constructive advice.
- I'm really glad it's Friday.
- I need to start getting ready for co-op classes to begin in February. I am really, really not ready mentally to have those begin again. I'm also really, really glad that we take January off.
- My new great-nephew (who's 2 months old now) is extremely cute. I can't wait to finally be able to meet him in person. (My brother's daughter's son.)
I guess I had a little more than I thought. Here's hoping we all get to sleep through the night!
