Fiber Monday - Just one thing to show

The past few days have been pretty busy and I have had very little time to work on fiber things. I'm about halfway done with the warp. (It would be really, really good if I could finish it this week. Unrealistic? Possibly.) I just have two more guest towels to hem. And I finished a skein of yarn. (If your friends with me on FB, you've already seen this.)

This was spun from a batt I created from mill ends. Mill ends are what is leftover when a woolen mill spins yarn. It is the fiber that won't fit through the spinning machines because there's not enough of it. Mills bag this up and sell it at a steep discount. I love to buy them because you can get a lot of really nice fiber for little cost, and since I have a drum carder I can create unique yarns with it. The downside is that you have no idea of fiber content beyond it being a natural fiber. To my fingers, my best guess is that this skein is mostly alpaca with a pretty good amount of angora. It is a super soft skein of yarn.

But if I'm going to get done everything I want to get done, I'm going to have to pick up the pace a bit. I've never actually looked forward to December because it always feels a little hectic to get everything done that needs to get done. This year? I'm actually looking forward to December.
