Meet my newest horse

First a word from our sponsor... me. I have some bags leftover from the sale. If you're interested, send me a message. At this moment, I have one chicken, three horses, and one rice bag.

Thank you. We'll now return to our regularly scheduled programming.

It won't surprise you to hear that I was horse crazy as a child. My room was filled books about horses and posters of horses  and every newspaper articles about horses were taped to my walls. But by far, my most precious horse related items were my model Breyer horses. I had a lot and played with them pretty constantly. I would even take them outside, put them in the grass, lie on my belly and take pictures of them because I thought the resulting photos made them look like real, live horses. I have a whole photo album of these pictures... somewhere. I was going to show a few of these photos with you, but the album is not where I thought it was. It is probably in the box in the crawl space with the apology to my children on top for leaving it to them to deal with. I'm not opening that box, so you'll have to use your imagination.

I still have most of my Breyer horses. They live in the toy closet and I use them in my horses classes to teach about breeds and colors. I think they enjoy the little outings and also the chance to see real horses.

This morning a box was on the front porch when I got back in from the barn. I was a little confused because I hadn't ordered anything. I checked with P. who was waiting for a package, but it wasn't hers. It was addressed to me, so it probably hadn't been ordered by anyone else in the house, so I opened the packing slip to see if I could figure out what was going on.

It was a gift! For me! Here is what was inside.

It was a thank you gift from a client. We had discovered we both loved Breyer horses as children. It was a lovely surprise.

And since I'm not really set up to have a stallion, regardless of how beautiful he is, the model version is probably the best option.
