Fiber Monday - In which I don't turn on my sewing machine

It was kind of a busy afternoon, so I didn't get a chance to really work on a project, but I did a few things. I climbed a little hand dyed (it's light blue, but you can't tell) Shetland wool. (And just remember, you don't come here for the photography.)


I finished the searches for my Polworth breed study sample and got it put in my binder.


And decided on a new knitting project... using some yarn I bought a couple of years ago to knit a pair of socks. 


What I'm really looking forward to is getting my hand painted warp on my loom and finally getting that woven. And because I like to have a vague sense of what I'm doing in each of my areas of interest, for spinning, I think I'm going to buckle down and finally get the rest of my breed samples spun. I'm kind of tired of having that hanging around. I've mentioned weaving and knitting, which leaves sewing when I'm ready to look at my machine again. When I made the muslin for the jacket, I only basted half of the muslin together to check the fit. I really like how the material looked as the jacket, so I want to go back and make the entire jacket out of the muslin fabric I used. This time I'm going to line the jacket because it will be infinitely faster and what I should have done with the handwoven fabric. Hindsight is 20/20. 

So that's my plan for now and it is so nice to have done margin for other things.

An uncomfortable post

I hope it comes as no surprise to my readers that when I vote early next week I will be casting my ballot for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Being in a blue state this feels as though it is a very little thing in the effort to bring our country back past the brink of no return . I'll be honest and say that I am feeling such stress and fear about this election that I can't listen to any news or look at social media for very long. The radio is pretty firmly set on our classical music station even though they are in the middle of a pledge drive. The pledge drive is preferable.  But for those of you who are supporting the other side, if there are any of you left who continue to visit my blog, here is what I need to say. When I drive around and see signs in people's yards supporting that man, I treat it as an early warning system. The people who live in this house are not safe for my family to be around. Sew, Mama, Sew! Giveaway

Sew, Mama, Sew! is hosting another giveaway day , the day where many bloggers giveaway things they have made or supplies to make things or both.  It is great fun to visit a lot of blogs and try to win cool stuff.  So fun that I thought I would participate this year.
