Although this was certainly not the ideal way to go about paying those taxes, the fact that you could is wonderful.<br /><br />I remember a single lady commenting to my mother in the grocery store, "Wow! I'm glad I don't have to pay for all that!" My mother's response stuck with that lady for years. "I'm glad that I CAN pay for all this." I also had a very low key attitude when I opened the letter and then started to panic when I saw tax sale at the top as well. <br /><br />Having worked in the county treasurer's office for 4 summers during college, I do recall the conversation about taxes in a closing we had with MANY taxpayers. Saw there in my closing docs that they had in fact given us the entire amount for the 2nd installment. I find it super frustrating that they only send one bill with both installments and no one bothers to give you a copy at closing.<br /><br />Because I got the letter after Sept. 30, I have to pay with a money order or cash, making the process a little bigger pain in the butt. <br /><br />Glad to see we aren't the only lax taxpayers out here :)juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18314513608572117924noreply@blogger.com
