Being blessed by the circus

Have you ever had something fall in your lap that you really wanted, but it seemed so trivial and frivolous that you hadn't even really prayed about it because it seemed just a little too selfish? Well, I've had one of those moments. For a while now some of my children have expressed a desire to see a circus. We went once as a family a long time ago and so many of my children haven't seen one or don't remember. And really the reason we haven't gone is that it's just so expensive to buy tickets for everyone. It was really hard to justify the money.

Just a few days after D. told me again how much he wished to see a circus, I had an offer come into my blog email about a chance to promote the circus in return for free tickets for my immediate family. Any other mother to a large family will understand when I didn't immediately jump and down, because we've been burned too many times about what constitutes an acceptable immediate family. I emailed for clarification and then did jump up and down because in this instance, 'immediate family' means exactly what you would expect it to: Me, my husband, and (all) of our children. Do you realize how rarely this happens?

So, I am going to take advantage of it and take my family to the circus. All of us. And in return, I'm going to do a little promotion for the circus in return. Here's the deal:

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents DRAGONS is a once in a millennium event that honors The Year of the Dragon. Circus performers from the farthest reaches of the earth have assembled for Ringling Bros. Presents Dragons to showcase their astounding acts of bravery and astonishing athleticism. Ringling Bros. Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson presides over this fantastical celebratory tournament of circus champions that brings together mystic dragon lore with authentic circus feats. Dragons is a never-before-seen blend of renowned spiritual and real life legends that can be found only at The Greatest Show On Earth! FREE PARKING in all official United Center parking lots.  The Circus runs from Nov. 1 - 11 at the Allstate Arena then from Nov. 14 - 25 at the United Center.  My readers save 40% on weekday shows and 20% on weekend shows and holidays with promo code MOM3.

And perhaps this will help some of my Chicago area readers go to the circus as well, because 40% off ticket is a pretty good mark-down. You'll be hearing about this a couple more times before the circus arrives so that I can honor my contract, and you can be sure I will be sharing pictures from the big night.

Now for just a little bit more legal-type-disclaimer business. I must tell you that:

“I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts in attending shows and reporting my opinion within this blog, as well as keeping you advised of the latest discount offers, Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets to Feld shows and opportunities to attend private Feld pre‐Show events.”

My family loves the circus - But most of all they love the elephant rides. Talk about a money drain! I swear those elephants poop dollar bills ;-) I understand it is expensive to feed them and we are happy to help a bit, and it is rather impressive that all five of us can ride the elephant at one time!

I think this is wonderful! So often we hear of big families being required to pay more because of their number. How cool is it that you all get to go to the circus!! Enjoy!!
