so awesome! i missed out because i don't recall ever reading in a post about her condition -- can she communicate well? do you know what her thoughts were about her new family? i can only imagine she is over-the-moon with excitement! cannot wait to follow you to china!!!!

Thanks Jan. Her official diagnosis is neurofibromatosis, though that is somewhat debated, with fatty tumors being a strong possibility. I wrote more about it here: http://ordinary-time.blogspot.com/2011/01/to-god-be-glory-great-things-he-hath.html

I've been told that she has been asking when she will get her family and that she was excited to get the book and shirt, etc. (I imagine that she is also just a wee bit overwhelmed as well.)

Can we send these pictures to a certain person in a certain office in a position of power in our state? Because I am certain at no point is she looking at these pictures and saying, "Oh my gosh, why are you sending me to live in a group home? Why can't I have a real family?" Um, no. Her palpable joy as she looked at the pictures (was she smiling at one of the pictures of the twins?), and the smiles on her face, make me want to shake certain people to make them see the far-reaching implications of their decisions.

She looks so happy, and I am so VERY HAPPY for you all! I cannot wait to see the pictures of you finally (FINALLY!) holding her in your arms.

And to think I was there when you bought that stuffed dog...
